Last Saturday a few of us went out to celebrate Kat’s 28th birthday. She invited her few close friends for pizza and cocktails and a little boogie later on. Unfortunately I had to go home early due to the fact that I had to be at work at half seven in the morning, but I stayed longer than planned. The hangover was worth it.
Described as ‘the best night she’s had forever’, we all met at Stables where everyone tucked into a delicious pizza, except for me, I was getting drunk. The pizzas looked absolutely amazing though and I couldn’t help but stare at them whilst they were being demolished.
Afterwards we all went to The Nest. I’ve never been to The Nest before, and it’s a tiny tiny venue. The artwork was pretty out there and the cocktails were delicious. Cocktail bars are becoming an ‘in’ thing in Cardiff and about time too!! It’s nice to have classy joints next to the crap, it’s nice to now have a variety of options.
We broke one or two things in The Nest, the floral chairs awoke our inner Insta monsters which clearly got waay too over-excited. Afterwards we headed to 10 Feet Tall where it was buy-one-get-one-free cocktails which went down a treat. Unfortunately that’s where the party stopped for me, le sigh.
Now I want to talk about my outfit – I wore a skirt! Now that may not sound like a big deal to you but here’s the tee – I’ve never owned a skirt. I hate skirts. I’m very insecure about my body unfortunately and I’ve never had the confidence to show off my gams. But I fell in love with this skirt, and I was determined to wear it – and guess what – it looked amazing. Black leather, just the way I like it. I looked like Yvette from ‘Allo Allo. If I’m honest I felt like Yvette from ‘Allo Allo. Still figuring out how to sit in a skirt but baby steps.
Hope you had a fantastic birthday Katrin and I cannot wait to spend many more with you.
