Desserts are a must over the Christmas period!!!! Christmas is the perfect time to indulge on all your favourite sweet treats. Fruit cake is always too rich for my taste, so my mother is always looking for alternatives for us. The internet is teaming with amazing recipes that I had to share with you!! I’ve tried to add a few really easy ones for the mothers out there who want to do a fun activity with their kids during this festive season.
Cranberry & Orange Chelsea Bun Tree
I loooove Cinnamon Buns (also known as above also)!!! One day, I will definitely try and attempt to make a cinnamon bun but it’s a long way to go before I reach that level (i’m going to stick to cupcakes first). But for those more advanced among us you might want to try it out!!
Sticky Toffee Pear Pudding
Oh my Lordy Lord don’t they look so moist and delicious?! I do love a good sticky toffee pudding but the adding of pear sounds…exotic! This is for those who are more advanced in the culinary department, however I do believe my mother could smash this recipe (hint hint).
Melting Snowman Biscuits
How cute do these look!? They look too good to eat and these are quite easy to make too!! These would be fun to make with your children, like a fun Christmas activity!!
Sugar-dusted Vanilla Biscuits
Oh my heavenly stars!! I do love a nice, buttery vanilla biscuit with a bit of sugar dust on the top. We used to have them in primary school and they were heavenly!! Again this is a very simple recipe and a good one to start your children off cooking.
Jammy Coconut Mallows
I do love marshmallow. I love them in Smores form, when they’re paired with strawberries or when they’re doused in white chocolate and sprinkles. You can get them in such a variety of flavours too!! But a Jammy Coconut Mallow? I’m intrigued…
Festive Jammy Dodgers
Now this is the ultimate Jammy treat!! I do love a good Jammy Dodger!! Again, another primary school treat!! The biscuit was always soo buttery and covered in sugar. Absolutely delicious!!
Chocolate Fruit Cake
Okay, I’m the first to admit that I’m very very fussy when it comes to my fruit cake. I’m not a fan of nuts in my fruit cake or cherries either so the adding of chocolate instead of the latter appeals far more to my taste buds. Hope you’re reading this Ma’.
