So this event happened in late July. I could’ve posted about it sooner but I didn’t want to. That day holds a very bitter memory for me and to avoid upsetting anyone whose reading my blog I didn’t want to talk about it like it was a good day. Because it really wasn’t. However I’m in a better place now and even though it wasn’t exactly the best day for me personally, I still had a great day with my parents, and I still want to share the event with you.
The Food Festival takes place in Cardiff every year during the summer season, the festival season. Eateries from all over Wales flock to this festival where the Diff locals chow down on great food and guzzle on refreshing booze.
The place is always packed. If you anxiety about large crowds avoid this festival at all costs. You can just about move around. Also be prepared to queue!! Each food stall and eatery will have a massive queue so be prepared to wait a while, but it’s always worth it!! The food is always delicious!!
I remember my sweet tooth being in full swing when I attended the Food Festival and I ended up eating soo much Marshmallow!! Have you ever had white chocolate and lemon marshmallow?! Find some and try some!! It’s delicious!!! We also got to taste some Science Cream which is ice cream made from liquid nitrogen. Looked amazing to make and it tasted like ice cream!! I was expecting something more mid blowing in flavour but it was still ice cream, so I wasn’t going to complain.
I did buy a lot of vodka though. There is this welsh company called Retro Shots and they create vodka flavoured as retro sweets. You can now have vodka that tastes of pear drops, Terry’s Chocolate Orange and many other amazing flavours. After I drank my first batch after the Food Festival I ended up going online and buying a load more. I am planning on doing a tasting haul on them soon so keep your eyes peeled for that!! It’ll be me and Katrin getting incredibly drunk for your amusement. Would you like that?! Of course you would!
I’ll definitely be attending again next year and next year I will definitely enjoy myself. The last two Festivals ended on such a sour note so this year I’m determined to enjoy it and not let anyone ruin it for me.
