Films I’m looking Forward to this fall

Autumn has finally hit and the nights going darker which means one thing: CINEMA SEASON!!! Fall this the perfect time to hit the cinema. There isn’t much to do when it’s pitch black at 6 o’ clock in the evening so why not grab the popcorn, take a comfy seat and enjoy some first class screening!

There are some upcoming films I cannot wait to see!! The variety of films ranges from comedy to horror and it’s nice to have an eclectic choice (I tend to stick to Asian films and horror). There are some films on this list that I never thought I would be interested in, but the trailers took me by surprise!

Here is my list of films I’m looking forward to this fall!

A Bad Moms Christmas
Release Date: 11/3/2017
Director(s): Jon Lucas, Scott Moore
Actor(s): Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn
So this is one of those films this fall that I never thought I would want to see but the film has such heavyweights acting in it I assume the script must be good. I haven’t seen the first film but I don’t feel that I need to. The cast includes Susan Sarandon and Wanda Sykes and my absolute favourite Christine Baranski!! They trailer looked hilarious so I’m more than happy to give this a go!

Kingsman: Golden Circle
Release Date: 9/22/2017
Director: Matthew Vaughn
Actor(s): Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taaron Egerton
Taaron Egerton is slowly becoming one of my favourite young actor and I enjoy his portrayal of Eggsy. I fell in love with the first film, especially the church fight which left my mouth aghast! I like the idea of bringing the Statesman. I cannot wait for more epic fight scenes, especially those using the lasso!

Mother
Release Date: 9/15/2017
Director: Darren Aronofsky
Actor(s): Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Phiffer
I think what intrigues me about this film is the fact I’ve seen all of the trailers and I still don’t have a clue what’s going on. It’s a psychological horror that’s already messing with brain thanks to three minutes of footage. I’m detecting a Rosemary’s Baby vibe from the film and maybe the husband is a ghost? I’m not quite sure. This article will be published after it’s release so hopefully by the time you’ve read this I would’ve watched it and enjoyed it.

Leatherface
Release Date: 20/10/2017
Director(s): Julien Maury, Alexandre Bustillo
Actor(s): Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Sam Strike
Prequels are all the rage in Horror and of course Leatherface would have one, but let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to know the origin of Leatherface?! I loved the first film of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the best thing I do not have to see the other 8 to enjoy this film!! Nothing like a slasher to get you into the holiday spirit. The plot seems a little darker than the first film but hopefully it’ll hold up to how awesome it looks in the trailers!!

The Foreigner
Release Date: /10/13/2017
Director: Martin Campbell
Actor(s): Jackie Chan, Piers Brosnan
I do love it when comedy actors take a more serious role because usually they give an amazing performance (Steve Cattrall in Little Miss Sunshine anyone?) Jackie Chan looks amazing in this thriller. It has that ‘Taken ‘ vibe to it which is really exciting. There are also a ton of explosions to keep us entertained!

Thor: Ragnarok
Release Date: 11/3/2017
Director: Taika Waititi
Actor(s): Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston
Thor is nearly here I can’t be anymore excited. I think what I’m more excited for is the fact that 80% of the film in improvised which is not surprising since the director is none other than Taika Waititi, one of the geniuses behind the movie What We Do in the Shadows. The trailer makes the film look so vibrant and full of life and recently Marvel has given us some solid stellar films so I’m expected this film to blow me away!!

The Disaster Atrist
Release Date: 12/8/2017
Director: James Franco
Actor(s): Alison Brie, James Franco, Zac Efron
The Disaster Artist makes me squirm in my seat. I get soo embarrassed when I watch it but I also can’t look away. I love it enough that I’m more than happy to sit through The Disaster Artist which not only looks funny, but very poignant and sad. James Franco’s impersonation of Tommy Wiseau is on point and apparently it’s creating Oscar buzz (please don’t hold me to that as I read it on Facebook).

The Man Who Invented Christmas
Release Date: 11/22/2017
Director: Bharat Nalluri
Actor(s): Dan Stevens, Christopher Plummer
When I saw the title of the film I didn’t really think much of it. Let’s be honest the title…falls flat. However once I discovered that it was directed by the brains of Nanny McPhee, I was intrigued. The trailer gave me goosebumps. It. Looks. Amazing! It’s all about the creation of Tiny Tim and Mr Scrooge and how they came to life through the genius mind of Charles Dickins. It’s looks funny, sweet and heart warming. I do expect to have tissues at the ready! Out of all the films on the list this is the one I’m most excited about!!
