Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

The film itself is visually stunning!! The sets and locations are absolutely gorgeous and they honestly took my absolute breath away! The uncharted planet looks epic as well as the scene of them in space. For me the visuals was one of the films best assets!! Of course the acting was superb by all the cast. Katherine Waterston did a solid job as our little kick ass heroine. The fight scene between her and the Alien is action packed however (even though they should never be compared), they don’t hold a candle next to the original fight scenes! Unfortunately this is all the positives I have to say about this film…

The films major let down is, of course, how predictable it is; William is actually David at the end- predictable, Alien being on the ship – predictable, David and William kissing – predictable. Nothing about it was shocking, not one bit and that to me was a major disappointment.

The shower scene…that stupid shower scene. Can we have a film where the audience is left shocked by something original and creative rather than seeing a woman being in a sexually vulnerable position?! Why have the tail crawling up her leg?! I blame that on lazy writing! She could’ve looked beyond the shoulders and scene hot breath on the shower wall and Jussie Smollett’s character could’ve turned around and that tiny alien head could still gone through his mouth and then next shot would be a close-up of the girls face and the baby alien head staring at eachother. There you go. An idea (albeit not a great one) where a woman isn’t raped by some goddamn alien tail. Let’s be honest, there was no need for the shower scene at all! I would’ve rather seen them fight!! There would be more action and it would’ve let the actors spread their acting wings!! I would love to have seen more of these two characters!!

David and those eggs…why? He could’ve kept them in his pocket! Something tells me there is a reason for this. If you know as to why please inform me. I need to informed as to why he’s regurgitating alien eggs.

And for my final negative Nancy comment – there was not enough Alien. In an Alien film I want Alien. Not a crazy Michael Fassbender  with a dopey accent – I want Alien and for me, there was certainly not enough Alien.

The film left me confused, angry (THAT GODDAMN SHOWER SCENE) and unfortunately disappointed. If your a die-hard fan then certainly give it a watch but otherwise I wouldn’t bother.
