At the end of 2016, my mother celebrated her 70th birthday and my parents, myself and Dam went on board the Britannia for a 12 day cruise, which ended up being the perfect holiday. We visited so many unique places as well as some of our old favourites!! Everyone had a good time and Mam really enjoyed her birthday. I posted many articles with photos of each trip so have a look through my blog, you’ll definitely find them!!
The ship itself was beautiful and one of the biggest cruise ships to swim the ocean shore. Boasting numerous amount of shops, four swimming pools and it’s own theatre there was plenty of activities to keep us occupied.
There were a numerous amounts of restaurants to be on board the Britannia and I couldn’t help getting my camera out and snapping one or two meals!! The average weight a person put on when on holiday on the cruise ship is 14 pounds!! I can’t be the only one thinking that that is a ridiculous amount of weight to put on!! However I can see why. With the breakfast and lunch being a buffet as well afternoon tea, and the pool having it’s own beach bar along with a three/five course meals (depending on where your eating) on most nights, it’s no surprise that some people pack on the pound!! it doesn’t help that the food is absolutely delicious!!
Even though I cannot remember any names of the restaurants on board the Britannia I do remember my favourite dishes. One of them being the cheese board. I’m a sucker for a good cheese board and this was one of the best cheese boadrs I’ve ever had. I loved the extras that came with it, especially the little bowl of grapes and slices of apple, made me feel a tiny bit healthier!! Another dish highlight for me was the bread and butter pudding with custard!!! Nothing beats a good moist bread and butter pudding!!
Here are some of my cuisine highlights, try not to drool all over your keyboard!!
