Blind bags are everywhere you look at the moment. If you visit any toy shop if you will see rows and rows of blind boxes!! You can have your pick of shopkins, Num Noms and also Disney!!
Disney Tsum Tsum is the name of a range of collectible stuffed toys based upon popular Disney characters (including characters from the Disney-owned Star Wars and Marvel franchises). The name is derived from the Japanese verb tsumu meaning “to stack”, because the toys are shaped like rectangles and designed to stack on top of each other, forming a pyramid shape.
The toys were first released in Japan in 2013 as a tie-in to the Tsum Tsum arcade and mobile games developed by Konami and Line Corporation. Disney began to sell them in the United States in July 2014, and in Disneyland Paris the following month. Around the same time, Disney released Tsum Tsum to the South Korean market, giving away icons for use on online chat systems. As of 2014, 1.8 million Tsum Tsum toys have been sold.
Disney Tsum Tsum is a very style of Disney merchandise popular amongst children and adults alike. Starting it’s days as cute little beanies, it has now broaden it’s merchandise to include plates and cutlery, school accessories and of course blind bags!!
There are two series of the Disney Tsum Tsum Mystery Stack which include some of Disney’s most beloved characters. In the first series there are 10 to collect all together. Each Mystery blind bag includes 1 medium sized figure along with one stackable accessory.
The characters you can collect in the first series of blind bags include;
- Minnie Mouse
- Winnie the Pooh
- Lucky (101 Dalmations)
- Cheshire Cat
If I had to choose I am really crossing my fingers for either Marie or Figaro. Marie is one of my favourite Disney characters, The Aristocats being my ultimate go-to Disney film. The design of the Figaro Mystery Stack stand out for me. I love the vibrant colours of the fish tank. I wouldn’t say Figaro is forgettable character, however I wouldn’t think he would’ve been the first choice to be used in a mystery blind bag. It’s refreshing that they are creating merchandise of the underrated but lovable characters.
So who did I get in my blind bag…..
I got WINNIE THE POOH!!!
It may not have been Marie or Figaro but I am really happy with my little blind bag find!! The Tsum Tsum itself is adorable as well as the accessory itself. You cannot see it well in the images but the pot is a lovely fuchsia pink. They’ve also include Honey dripping over the side which is a really cute touch! Winnie the Pooh is placed within the pot as he looks adorable!!
Will I buy more? Yes, I’ve already have if I’m being completely honest with you!! I’m not planning on collecting all 10 but fingers crossed in my next blind bag opening I’ll get Marie or Figaro!!
