Nothing like a bit of retail therapy to cure those cold monday blues!! I haven’t seen my parents since the cruise which was six weeks ago (!). It was nice to finally see them after all this time. I usually get weekends off and on the weekend Cardiff is disgustingly busy. It’s not worth the hassle of coming up here when there is barely any room to walk, but luckily I have to work one weekend in the month which means I get one friday and one monday off, which is much easier for my parents!
The christmas decorations are finally up in Cardiff and while some are really pretty such as the reindeer, others have not gone down so well. The tree. it cost the council £30,000 dollars and it’s meant to be 40ft. Look at it. I’t been described as ugly, pathetic and my personal favourite ‘a ferrero rocher dildo’. I just can’t seem to grasp the fact that this cost us £30,000!! What’s really sad though is that the council spent so much money on…this, and yet around the corner of the castle you will see people sleeping rough. I understand that as a major city we need a Christmas Tree but it’s sub zero temperatures outside and people need shelter.
I’m going to move swiftly from the negatives now.. I’ve nearly finished buying my Christmas presents!!! Yay!! This year Kat and I decided to create a shoe box filled with necessities for a charity that helps homeless women by providing them with necessities. So we’ve added the usual which some of us might take for granted such as pads, toothpaste and facial wipes, we’ve also included some little goodies. I hope whoever receives my shoe box will be happy!!
After Christmas shopping we headed to our local Indian restaurant for some top nosh!! It’s the same place we went to for my birthday in march and we all loved it!! None of us finished our food though.
Such a pleasant day. Mam and Dad are the best company!!
