Visual Diary: Lisbon

Our very last destination (BOO HOO!!!) was Lisbon. It was scorching hot. Dan was the colour of beetroot by the end. The Sun was burning my skin, it was so hot!!!

Once we had our breakfast we headed out to catch the tourist bus and we waited….and waited…..and waited…and waited. By the end Dan and I gave up and hopped onto the nearest Tuk Tuk, which was so much fun and easier to get around in (as well as cheaper). The Tuk Tuk driver dropped us off at one of the four main squares and then we began exploring.

We managed to find (by chance) a doll hospital in the heart of Lisbon. It was €2 for a 10 minute tour and even though it was very interesting ( some of the dolls that have been sent in for repair are over a 100 years old) it was also pretty damn creepy. It was as if all the Annabelle’s of the world decided to accumulate in the middle of portugal. Some of them were just terrifying and none of them seemed to want their eyes to face forward. Can you picture any of these being on shelf?! Nope. Nope nope nope nope, no thank you!!

Afterwards, we attempted to find our fourth comic shop but to no avail we just ended up walking around for an hour or two, but we saw some amazing sights!! There were tonnes of images of Cristiano Ronaldo everywhere, as well coloured statues of the Virgin Mary. We were getting quite hangry by the end so we sat down at a local cafe in the square and had some ice cream. They had pineapple flavour!! The best flavour of ice cream.

We couldn’t find the shuttle bus home. Great. So we had to make our own way back when we came by some really cute street performers!! The walk back took an hour and 15 minutes but once we returned to the ship we headed straight to the sail away party. The most British even I’ve ever been too. Blasting Status Quo and We Are Sailing, our ship went underneath Lisbon bridge which was spectacular. What a grand ana amazing way to end our perfect holiday.
