I was lucky to have had tickets to a preview screening of the new Absolutely Fabulous Movie courtesy of Topshop! I’m completely and utterly in love with Absolutely Fabulous and was beyond excited that they announced they were making a film.
There was at least 30/40 of us in the audience and you could tell we were all die hard fans!! It was mostly best friends having a good time which made the cinema atmosphere really nice and relaxed.
Eddie and Patsy are still the same pill popping, chain smoking queens we all now and love. Eddie is attempting to get a book deal about her life while Patsy is organising an event for a renounced fashion designer. Whilst working, someone let’s slip to Patsy that Kate Moss is changing her PR. Whilst this is happening Eddie is attending the PR Awards Dinner of the Month Lunch, where Clordia Bing is in attendance. Patsy informs Eddie that Kate Moss is changing her PR which Bing overhears. At the event Eddie and Bing are in competition to speak to Moss and whilst charging towards her Eddie accidentally knocks Kate off the side and into The Thames. To avoid press (and possible charges for manslaughter), Eddie and Patsy move to the South of France to start anew.
I knew I was going to love and it was an excellent film! You have to be a die hard fan to appreciate it though, since they make reference to the Television show. Do you know what I mean by Gabon? If you do then you will love the film, if you don’t, maybe this isn’t the film for you. The locations are to die for and looks just as every bit as glamourous at the Television show. There are some really amazing cameos with the obvious guests (Emma Bunton, Lulu and La Roux) as well as some really really random one (Jaime Laing for instance…why?). It’s an awesome sisterhood film too, like a glamourous Thelma and Louise, two best friends having eachothers back regardless of obstacles.
(Please excuse the quality of the images, started using the Olympus Pen elp7 and still learning how to use it)
