I celebrated my 25th birthday party on the 7th of March and I wanted to share some images of my day with you guys. The whole weekend was amazing to be fair. On Saturday I attended Comic Con where I made lots of neat nerdy purchases and then night time I attended my friend and former co-worker Sam’s leaving do’, he’s now in London working for British Airways and seems to be having a fantastic time. On Sunday I was sick. All day. Self induced so no pity party for me, and then Monday I turned 25.
I woke to my housemate Helen who gave me such lovely gifts!! I received a Dragon Ball Z mug as well as some awesome comics which I shall be reviewing very soon!! Dan then came over and I started to get ready for my parents to come. They were staying the night at the Radisson Blu which made my dad really since it meant he didn’t have to drive home and he could enjoy a drink or three with his meal in the night.
Still partially recovering from Saturday nights ventures I wanted a very very chilled birthday so we just walked around town for an hour or two. Of course Forbidden Planet was on the agenda so while my parents went shopping, Dan and I headed to my favourite place in Cardiff. I thought that since it was my birthday I would treat myself to one or two items. I bought myself One Punch Man vol 2 and a Bobs Burgers comic book. I also received Krispy Kreme and Harley Quinn Comic Vol 2 from Katrin. It’s obvious I was clearly spoilt.
Since I managed to save I decided that for my birthday I would treat myself to a new camera which I ended up not buying. I’ve been wanting an Olympus Pen ELP-7 for a while and I’ve seen many people use it and it produces great quality photos, the only problem is that it’s been discontinued in most stores. I was told I should purchase the Olympus E-M10 instead as it has a viewfinder. All I want is a camera that doesn’t cause attention (seriously you wouldn’t think people have seen a person taking a photo before with the stares I get from using my 60D). Which one do you think I should get? Please leave a comment below.
My favourite part of my birthday and (every other day) was the food!! For lunch we decided to have high tea at Pettigrew’s Tea Rooms, one of my favourite places to head if I fancy a light healthy lunch. We had sandwiches we all kinds of fillings, ranging from salmon to Cucumber. High Tea also came with the traditional scone with jam and cream. They had only just come out of the oven so they were warm and fluffy. Best scones I’ve had for a while. Dessert also came with lunch but I was already so full I decided to have something I easy on the stomach so two Welsh Cakes it was haha!!
For dinner I decided to take Dan and my parents to an Indian restaurant called ‘Juborg’. I’ve succumbed to plenty of Takeaway’s from this place so I already knew the food was going to be amazing. My parents absolutely loved it!! It made a refreshing and nice change to dine somewhere that wasn’t a chain restaurant. We had a mix meat platter for starters and then for my main course I had chicken korma with chips and a chapatti while I also shared some keema rice with Dan. Safe to say we were completely and utterly stuffed!!
I saved the best till last: check out my BIRTHDAY CAKE!!! Isn’t it beyond perfect. It’s a Dragon Ball Z Carrot Cake homemade by mother!! It looked amazing and tasted amazing too!! It was a shame that I had to cut it!!
In summary I had an amazing weekend with some amazing adventures which I shared with my favourite people!! Until next year!!
