I recently wrote an article on the first ever Geekedfest which was held at Newport Centre and just like every comic con I visit I always spend more than my bank balance will allow but who cares?! Money is for spending right?! And all my bills and rent and tax had been paid the rest is for me to lavish gifts on myself and others, but mainly for me so enough trying to make excuses for myself here is what I purchased…
How cute is this top?! I already own one top from Wildcard Clothing you can see it in my ‘about me‘ section. As much as I love my ‘Don’t touch me with those f*cked up yaoi hands’ due to the fact I would love a career writing and drawing this style of manga I can’t really wear it out due to it’s profanity (children hear enough swear words without having to read it on my top) and also to avoid the obvious question “what is yaoi?”, especially when that question comes from your parents (awkward doesn’t cover it), so this top from them is perfect!! It has a really cute manga drawing, it’s pink (score!) and it’s the perfect wildcard clothing Oh Japan! style top!! I absolutely love it!! I saw the design on their Instagram during their tours of comic cons and just fell in love with it. I was bouncing when I found out they did in top form too! Lou Scannon Comics
I’m so so happy with these purchases!! I can tell by the cover that these will be great read and if Johnny Vegas likes them you know their going to be good!! The main character is called Lou Scannon (duh Fred!!) whose captain of the Starship “Raging Hormone’ he is joined on his adventures, one which is a pub crawl, by his starship squad who include Vic who suffers froma condition that turns him to a werewolf every full moon (let’s call them ‘crazed furry wigouts’ and also if you by the comic you will get that reference, so, you know, but the comic) and unfortunately for him since he lives in space, there is always a full moon. Their a great read and I found myself laughing away at the first panel!! Looking from the cover and description I was given about the comic from it’s creators, Lou seems like a sensible and cooler version of Johnny Bravo with that handsome look of Space Dandy, both of whom I love!! I do love different forms of art especially when it’s expressed with different materials so I always enjoy seeing what new work they have on show. We bought a few of their works in the last convention (link here) and we had a quick look at their display. We saw the Pikachu Chestnut (I don’t know if that’s what their called but for know, that’s what I’m calling them) and I thought they looked soo cute!! Dan could see how much I liked them and bought me one, isn’t he an angel?! I think it’s a sweet idea and has given me the inspiration to look beyond the paper, pen and lens to express my artistic side. Please support these artists by clicking a link below;
#pink4life. A hashtag I regularly use in life, believe me when I say that 15 year old Rhian is having a hard time adjusting to this new pink adoration I have. When I was going through my ‘goth/emo/non plastic’ phase I only wore black and occasionally neon green but now I’m struggling to find anything black in my wardrobe. I don’t understand it, my mother doesn’t understand it and thinks I’m going backwards but hey ho at least my wardrobe is interesting now. Anywhoo.. back to the point I was making….
I love pink and this necklace would make a fine addition to my pink wardrobe. As I’m typing this Ani is resting nicely on my neck. There were many other pop culture characters to choose from, something to suit everyone and also, and this is really important, the necklace doesn’t pull on the hair on the back of your neck. I always get this problem so it makes a change to find a necklace that doesn’t do that. Please purchase some of these lovely pieces below;
Blue Box Balm
I have purchased a lovely Lip Balm and I absolutely love. It’s called ‘Professor’ inspired by the seventh doctor (each lip balm will have a character name and will be inspired by Doctor Who, hence the name ‘Blue Box Balm’ and the flavour is coconut milk and peaches and it smells and tastes lovely and sweet. It’s such a cute idea and I’m already getting Katrin something similar for her Birthday!!! Of course there are tones of other flavours and characters which you can purchase below;
