I’ve already done my post on the latest comic con I visited (read article here) and now I want to do a quick mini post showing you what I purchased with links (again) so you can browse on each artist and help them out.
The biggest purchases I did were probably the comics. I’ve been wanting to buy these comics for a while so to me it was money well spent. I’m definitely buying issue #4 and #5 of The Pride comics ( I really need to know what happens between the characters) as well as buy all the issues of Lou Scannon (really angry that I ran out of money!!). These are definite purchases at the next con (in October).
I shall be popping the links to each artist underneath the images of their work. I will also include a few gifts Dan bought himself. Unfortunately i didn’t get their information so I haven’t got any links! (BOO) but I’m hoping they’ll be at Geeked Out which is a brand new comic con in Newport which I have been personally invited too. I hope that these artists shall be along with new ones too. I also you can come to Geeked Out, I shall put more information after I show you my purchases.
These two works of art as well as my pillow were created by Collette J Ellis who focuses on illustration, concept art and graphic design. Here are her links:

You can also follow her on facebook, twitter and tumblr link which are on her website.
Here is a piece that Dan bought for himself which I really like too. Dan says he thinks the girl looks like me (pfft, insult to the artist) and he likes the little details such as the welsh flag in the corner. I really like it because it’s personal and the artist has given his personal welsh touch to it too. A splendid buy.
This kick ass piece was created by Anastasia Catris who focuses on book illustration, sketchcards, fan art, comics, colouring books and private commissions. Her links are;
This is a kawaii little image based on Doctor Watson from Sherlock by the very lovely illustrator Faye Simms. Links include:

Here are my pieces from Hellbound Media who are always a delight to meet and always speak passionately of their work. They also have a comic created entirely out of photography which has given me some neat and inspiring ideas. Their links are;
Here are my ‘The Pride’ comics!! Don’ they look amazing!?! A part of me can’t really wait until next comic con to purchase the next 3 chapters so I might find out if they sell them online. Unfortunately I forgot to grab a card but I have managed to find their twitter;
Here are the first 3 issues of ‘Stiffs’ comics which I found out is read by none other than Johnny Vegas! There you go!! It’s an excellent read and you will appreciate it more once you know the back story to it. Show them some love by purchasing their work via these links;
Dead happy with the two new issues of ‘Age of Revolution’. The first three issues were the first independent comic I ever bought so they are quite special to me and also the crew are always friendly and are just nice people. Please show them support by clicking on all of the links below;
So, I received an e-mail a month or two ago about a new comic con coming to Wales called ‘Geeked Out’. It’ll be taking place on August 8th and I hope to see some of my followers there!! It’ll be taking place in Newport Leisure and I cannot wait!!!
Here is what I was sent:
Newport is set to play host to a new film and comic convention this summer.
GeekedFest, which will be hosted at the Newport Leisure Centre on August 8 and 9, is the first of what organisers hope will become an annual event. GeekedFest Ltd was founded by Chris Muscat and Shane Richard Jordan who are from Newport and are passionate about their city.
They want to provide a comic convention that is accessible to families and newcomers and will offer a drooling experience for the hardcore nerds, gamers, geeks of all ages, creeds and guilds.
The event will have a roster full of special guests, including Game of Thrones actors, current and former WWE wrestling stars and authors of classics such as the Return of the Jedi and the Goonies. As well as autographs and picture opportunities there will also be exhibitions showcasing Dr Who props, Star Wars memorabilia and film characters.
GeekedFest will be packed full with market stalls and exhibitors selling everything from costume wear, comics, figurines, unique artwork, retro games, autographs, film memorabilia, and rare confectionery. There will be a dedicated Cosplay area and gaming room with competitions and shows throughout both days.
Co-founder of Geekedfest Chris Muscat said “Geekedfest started with a passion for films and comics and a desire to provide Newport, our city, with something everyone can enjoy. The city is undergoing a major redevelopment and as part of that we wanted to offer an annual event Newport can be proud of.”
“Our aim is to offer our guests an experience they will enjoy and at the same time support our local businesses and charities. We are supporting the Follow Your Dreams, St Davids Foundation Hospice Care and Fibroduck charities to raise awareness and funds for their great causes, with exhibitions dedicated to them on both days.”
I cannot wait and I cannot wait to blog about it too!!
