Whilst on our weekend break in Stratford-Upon-Avon Dan and I decided to spend our last remaining hours there in the Butterfly House which is described as Britain’s largest butterfly house. It’s very popular amongst visitors of all ages and a great place to take you children. So many different species of butterflies, so many amazing images to take, but we were in for a big surprise!!
For those of you who don’t know (which, saying that is probably all of you) but I love my reptiles!!! I’ve had my pet snake Houdini for 13 years now and he’s my little baby, so you could imagine how delighted I was when there were massive iguanas running around the place. You could tell they were used to people as they were approaching me with ease. I’ve never been so close to one before without having a tank to block us, their eyes were piercing. It’s true when they say it’s the closest you’ll ever get to a dragon.
Of course you’re not allowed to touch or lift them and to be honest even if we were allowed I wouldn’t have risked it at all. They’re nails would’ve killed!! One of them was a massive lump, saying that so were the cat fish!! At least a foot in length and absolute heffers the lot of them! I’ve never seen Catfish so big, pretty colours though white/gold and orange. It’s such a stunning house with so many beautiful butterflies I was in my element, just snapping away whenever I could!! The caterpillar house was just adorable!! So small and tiny…and spiky too but do you know what was incredibly adorable? The birds!! So tiny and cute and so fluffy, I just wanted to pick them and take them home but of course I couldn’t because, you know, I would lose it (also stealing is wrong, that should’ve been my first reason).
By the end we were sweating like pigs so we had to leave. My fringe turned into a moustache after 20 minutes!! But definitely worth the money and we’ll definitely have to take Dan’s niece and nephew when their older.
