My last food post on London eateries until I return this summer (BOO!!) but as you might have guessed as soon as I return to the amazing capital I will be eating out every day which means a good 4-5 posts in the future, until then let me tell you about this amazing place I found by chance in West Hamstead: Mamacita.

Mamacita focuses on Mexican cuisine. The chefs are all mexican and are freshly made on the day. All the dishes are family based meals with a modern twist and are all completely healthy. They use 100% organic foods and use free range meat and eggs, no additives at all.

I was very hungry at the time and I didn’t fancy anything over the top so I opted for the Benedict and Friends which cost me a mere £6.50 which consisted of two poached eggs, chipotle hollandaise and spinach on english muffins. I also added some blackened salmon for £2. It took a while to make but everything is cooked and made fresh but was it worth the wait??

Yes it was. Oh my Lord it was worth the wait in gold!! It was done perfectly!! The eggs were runny so I had amazing images. It was hotter than the usual Eggs Benedict I usually enjoy which made it stand out more!! I’m glad I added the salmon too. Salmon and eggs are a good mix and it was completely filling. I didn’t feel overly full afterwards either and it gave me enough energy until dinner time, no snacking in between which is what you would usually do when you go away.

I didn’t have a dessert unfortunately and i’m sort of glad I didn’t. I think dessert would’ve been overkill and it would have ruined the while meal for me. The service was lovely too. Very pleasant people always coming up to ask if I was okay and actually taking an interest in what I was doing too. Most people just stare at me when I’m holding my massive camera and with it’s big-ass lens but here they were intrigued by what I was doing. I hope they like the images I took.

Another thing you will love about Mamacita’s is the art deco. Very Mexicana, even the cup that holds your knife and fork. An absolute perfect setting and really sets the mood of the whole restaurant.

Would I return? Certainly I would. Next time I shall try something more exotic and I shall definitely have a dessert, even if it’s churros (psst, I hate churros).
