For some of you who are new to this blog, I’m on a constant diet. Recently I’ve been gaining weight so I have cut sugar out of my diet. The plan is to go cold turkey for 28 days then have a day off where I can enjoy any sweet sugary treats I want and then start again. So, I shall from now on be creating posts in honour of these sweet days and they shall be entitled ‘Sweet Days’ and I cannot wait!! 14 days until I can enjoy sugar again!! Until then, here is a food post on Cadwaladers and it’s array of desserts.
Cadwaladers is a welsh establishment which began in 1927 by the Cadwaladers family in Criccieth. They focused mainly on ice cream a the beginning but of course with time they expanded to cream teas, cakes and hot food as well as coffees and ice teas. Let’s just say it’s one of the best ice cream parlours in North and South Wales, well, on line with Verdi’s in Mumbles and Joe’s ice cream which of course is very very popular.
The location is lovely too. It’s based on the sea front of Cardiff Bay so while your indulging in your sweet treat you can look out at the seas shore. Not going to lie it’s freezing in winter so it’s best to sit outside but in the summer it’s perfect. Finding seats is hard though, there isn’t many seats available so it’s first come first serve but you can take ice cream out but if your planning on having a nice meal best to check if there are any seats available first before you order.
I found it so hard to decide what I wanted. I fancied ice cream but I also fancied something warm too so I opted for waffle with ice cream and toffee sauce, the only thing that was missing was the banana. I love my toffee waffle, it’s my safe dessert because I know I will enjoy it whatever the restaurant whatever the situation.
Opinion: gorgeous. You cannot go wrong with a toffee waffle. I also ordered some peach ice tea which was refreshing and sweet. Twas the perfect day and the perfect meal to satisfy this sweet tooth of mine.
Expect some more Cadwaladers post in the near future, in the meantime enjoy these mouth watering images.
